UNIT 04 [기초 문법] 명사

1. 명사란?

사물, 사람, 개념의 이름

2. 명사는 어떻게 알아볼까?

단어의 끝(어미)를 본다.
위치를 본다.

1) 명사의 어미 형태

• 동사 + -tion/sion : production, invitation, information
• 동사 + -ment : employment, requirement, disappointment
• 동사 + -ance : assistance, attendance, importance
• 동사 + -ure : pressure, pleasure, departure
• 동사 + -sis : analysis, emphasis
• 형용사 + -ness : comprehensiveness
• 형용사 + -ity : security, stability, variety
• 동사 + -ee : employee, interviewee, trainee
• 동사 + -er : user, founder, manager, consumer

-ee, -er은 사람을 뜻한다.

2) 명사/명사구 형태

관사 - 부사 - 형용사 - 명사

Woman
The woman.
The beautiful woman.
The most beautiful woman.

Pen
A pen.
An expensive pen.
A very expensive pen.

단어가 2개 이상이면 구라고 부른다.
단, 의미적으로 연관성이 있어어한다.

a/the(관사)나 my/your(소유격)가 있으면 뒤에 명사가 있다고 생각하자.

3. 명사의 위치

1) 주어

• Your products will be shipped.
  당신의 상품들은 배송될 것이다.

• All employees should attend the seminar.
  모든 직원들은 세미나에 참석해야 한다.

2) 동사 뒤 목적어

• I would like to buy the desk.
  나는 그 책상을 사고 싶다.

• He installed the new software.
  그는 새로운 소프트웨어를 설치했다.

3) 전치사 뒤 목적어

• Please participate in the meeting.
  부디 그 회의에 참여해 주세요.

• He is eating the fish in the room.
  그는 방에서 생선을 먹고 있다.

4) 보어

• Mr. Chang will be a teacher.
  장 씨는 선생님이 될 것이다.

• Jeju is the best destination for the rest.
  제주는 휴식을 위한 최적지이다.

명사 + 명사 = 복합명사
